Not sure about the new management........
by cat77cat ,Sep 27 '05
I started using Ofoto which is now the Kodak Gallery because webshots print quality was really sucky. I love the quality of the prints from Ofoto but recently they changed to ask me to keep buying prints. I apparently need to buy something once a year. It was a surprised change as it put me off for a bit.
It's not a change that I welcome as I don't feel like buying quite often, I should dictate when I want to buy prints and with who. If they wanted to start charging to use the site, I'd be okay if they fix the bugs in the program and if they offer unlimited albums.

fantastic customer service
by melmay ,May 30 '07
i usually use another online photo store, but 10c prints caught my eye at kodak. i have used them before and the quality is great. this time i had a huge upload - 780 - prints and took a long time to sort out which ones made the cut for the print order and so on. i finally submitted my order then realized that an unfamiliar function was ON when i sent my order along. i shot off an email to the customer service folks from the website, worried that my order might be in print before the query was answered, and kodakgallery called me (in sydney), to give me advice about the question i had. i was really surprised to have this response to my question - it was timely (and not in the middle of the night with time differences!) and great advice and outstanding customer service. altogether different to the customer service from my usual online photo store. i am such a comparison shopper these days and exemplary service really puts people way ahead in my opinion

Customer service?? What a joke!
by sickofspin ,Oct 28 '04
I have had only unsatisfactory customer service from Ofoto. Buyer beware! When my rolls of film were processed, random photos from several rolls were only partially printed. After weeks of calling and emailing, I was finally told that their processing equipment sometimes makes this error and accidentally destroys negatives. Sorry, they said. When I ordered prints of all 11 rolls, they processed one continuous run of thumbnails (not by roll) and squashed all prints into 4x6 envelopes -- in other words, no effort was made to keep negatives, prints, and their corresponding thumbnails together. When I asked for thumbnails by roll and for 5 extra envelopes for storage by roll, I was told (again after repeat emails from me) that this is not their procedure!! No effort was made to accommodate my simple requests. Surely, I was speaking with the least helpful so-called customer service known to man.
Maybe Ofoto works for someone who has NO interest in prints, but it sure as heck was a disaster for me. Give me the high quality printer two blocks away who actually cares about the product and who has REAL customer service.

User friendly website that produces good quality photos.
by emcat1980 ,Feb 19 '05
I have been using Ofoto for about a year now and I have been very satisfied. I find the site easy to navigate. I love that I can post albums online and share them so easily with friends and family. I've ordered prints over 20 times and have never been disappointed with the quality of the photos or the speed of the delivery. I find their customer service department professional, courteous and prompt.

Good, & Bad... Got prints complete on 3rd attempt.
by snair33 ,Oct 26 '04
I received a promotional offer through email from ofoto and uploaded some digital photos to print. I didn't receive the order even after one month. They canceled my order when I contacted customer service about that , saying "some of the photos were not uploaded to server" .
I ordered prints for second time, since I don't want to waste time uploading photos somewhere else. Again the store repeats.. This time they were more specific about the images that were not avaible, and insisted that I have to place the order once again. BTW, they gave me a shipping credit as a compensation.
Anyway I was successful on my third attempt. I got the prints the very next business day.

A Great Place To Store Photos, But No Password Protected Albums
by babblebabble ,Feb 25 '04
Easy to use and setup. The uploading feature makes uploading pictures a breeze! You can order prints, but I haven't tried this feature yet, so I can't comment on the quality of the prints.
What I don't like about it is that you can't password protect your albums. If you invite someone to view your album, this means they can access ALL of your albums. I suggest you open a second account to store photos which you don't want to share with all your family and friends.
Fotki.com offers password protected albums, but uploading is so slow! This is what convinced me to go with Ofoto otherwise I would have stayed with Fotki.
Plus, Ofoto is owned by Kodak, so you know you're dealing with a trusted company and brand.

Avoid at all cost!
by smartshop111 ,Oct 02 '04
Ofoto used to have very high quality prints on quality paper until Kodak took over. Now their prints look like the ones you get at Walmart or some low-end photo finishing place.
Prices are terrible too, especially considering shipping.
To add insult to injury, their customer service is non-existent. Lately they added copyright checking which basically cancels your order if your photo was taken by a studio or someone else.
Save your money and time, shop somewhere else!

Ofofo - excellent, Kodak - extremely dissatisfied!
by dianna857 ,Dec 11 '06
I have just returned my Holiday cards for the second time to Kodak. I have used Ofoto for the last 4 years, and been extremely happy. This is the first year that I have had a bad experience. The quality of the printing was poor the first time and worse on the second! I will not use this company for printing again!

Orders filled promptly accurately; free online storage apparently limitless; varied products; prompt sympathetic service.
by billwieting ,Mar 15 '06
Kodak's photographic expertise is already legendary and needs no further attestations, except to emphasize that the Ofoto/Kodak online photo storage and print service is fully worthy of that outstanding reputation. For the cost of one print a year(!), online storage is virtually limitless, easy to organize and to share instantly with the whole world of the internet. Prints are very competitively priced and often discounted; they are technically simply outstanding, promptly and accurately prepared, and delivered with amazing speed. Through my own haste and carelessness, I recently managed to miss a 25% discount on a substantial order of mini-books; within hours of my raising the question, Ofoto/Kodak's customer service people arranged for a fully equal credit against my future purchases. In sum: this is a supremely versatile and useful online service - it provides endless storage; it is convenient and fun to use; it delivers flawless prints with perfect accuracy and speed; and its customer service staff are prompt, sympathetic and generous. Who could ask for anything more?!

Bad really bad....
by pablop ,Mar 14 '05
well ....very VERY dissapointing. I got some calendars I wished never ordered them. I used to buy ever year the calendar from Ofoto, and the quality was just great: printing and paper quality (no to mention that the layout was great). Now is horrible (half page) the print quality is same as my cheap epson printer...no, no sorry is even worst. Last order. Sorry. Well another company entering into the mediocricy of the new american society.

Gorgeous prints!!!
by norabo ,Jan 08 '04
I sent out a set of 18 photos to five different online printing services: Shutterfly, Adorama, Imagestation, Snapfish, and Ofoto. Ofoto won the competition hands down. While all the others fared well with speed of delivery and ease of site, the prints from Ofoto were, in my opinion, the best. The colors were the most natural and true, the resolution the clearest. Second place would go to Adorama because they allow you to convert photos to their printer profile, enabling the best match to your monitor. Adorama also uses Kodak royal velvet card stock, a heavier and more professional paper. Ofoto's prints were still the best all round.

Love this site! Cannot say enough great things about it! I recently had a baby and my husband loves to take digital pictures, Ofoto allows me to upload the pix so I can have prints made for her photo album.
