RUN don't walk to the nearest exit. by hjhdgroot ,Apr 21 '07
No one answers phones, so it takes months to resolve defective machine replacements. Replacement came and it was the base model Elliptical when I had a deluxe programmable, adjustable model. They are at best inefficient and disorganized, perhaps even understaffed. At worst, which I believe now, is that they are in bad faith. The BBB will be notified.
Worst customer service that I've ever experienced. by lawlesst ,Jan 12 '07
They are absolutely awful! I bought their new 20.0 elliptical on 12/22/06 and the console did not work. After leaving 3 phone messages on their "dead-end" voice mail customer service line, they finally called me back....2 days later. I'm still waiting for the console and don't expect to get it before 1/29/07. After paying $800 for one elliptical, it will sit in my livingroom, unusable, for over 5 weeks. To make it up to me, they have offered me a free floor mat. Whoo hooo (eye roll), a whole $29 dollar value. Whoop-de-doo.
Worst customer service that I've ever experienced.
Inaccurate listings and unfair behavior. by cynder211 ,Feb 27 '08
I found an elliptical trainer that I really wanted on their site, so I ordered it. Even though Pro-Form said this trainer was in stock, that didn't turn out to be the case. And to top it off, rather than contact me and let me know, they took my money and then shipped me a different elliptical trainer! When I received the wrong elliptical, I called them, and their response was simply that they sent this one because the one I wanted was out-of-stock. I am now out this money until they receive it back at their warehouse. I'm so disappointed with them, and will never consider ordering from them again.
Never buy from Proform or any company associated with ICON Health & Fitness by tbirdmc ,Feb 05 '07
Extremely disappointed! I was fooled by good price and the no interest payment plan. They do not honor their 30 day money back guarantee.
It was one problem after another. I rec'd a damaged unit. Then the console didn't work. Unit wouldn't turn off. Resistance motor quit working. You can't get a customer service rep when you need help. I left messages and sent emails. I was REFUSED 30 day money back guarantee. They sent a tech out 3 times to attempt to fix it. Tech contacted Icon and they couldn't help him. I had my elliptical four months before they decided to replace it. I had to file a BBB complaint to get a replacement unit. Rec'd replacement unit that doesn't work properly. Now customer service won't return phone calls or emails. I filed another BBB complaint.
I bought this equipment 11 mos ago and it's only been usable for maybe 4 months.
They are terrible. They also make weslo, nordictrack, image, weider, reebok and healthrider treadmills. The equipment is crap and when they have a problem with the equipment they never stand behind it. The warranties are terrible. They also make Jumpking trampolines. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! It is all made by the Icon Health and Fitness company. They are one of the worst companies I can imagine
I am extremely disappointed with my experience in buying an elliptical direct from Pro Form. I ordered the 1280s interactive trainer on 12/5/2005. It did not arrive until 1/11/2005. Maybe that is the norm but it was certainly not what I expected.
Now that I have the 1280s and I have assembled it, the console display does not work. Other quality issues like no serial number and an owners manual that is for a different model number than what the sticker on the elliptical. Customer Service is virtually impossible to get through to, they dead end every call to please leave a number and someone will call you back. They are non responsive to email. I finally got to talk to someone and they are going to send me a new console. I don't know when and I expect it will be several weeks. I expect my 30 day money back guarantee will expire by the time I get it.
Once the sale is done customer service is hard to come buy. by helainejoy ,Jan 24 '06
The order process is great but the customer service line if you need them is impossible to reach. We had 2 missing and 2 damaged parts and I finally got the number to the corporate offices to get results. I was then instructed never to call that number and only the 800 number was to be called. However the customer service number prompts you to leave a number and someone will call you back. I had done that several times and never got a call back to again I called the corporate line where some one did help me but again instructed me never to call that number again. The item was clearly damaged before it went in the box as the box was in perfect shape. Next time I want a Proform item I will go through a retailer so I have a better point of contact.
I purchase an Eliptical Machine from the Proform website. It arrived in the 7-10 business day timeframe as expected. When I unboxed the item and began assembling it, I noticed that the left side bushing of the frame was damaged and would not allow the axel to pass through as designed.
When I called customer service, they told me that because the frame portion was damaged, it was an unserviceable part and the whole machine would have to be replaced. Naturally I was shocked that I would have to unassemble and rebox this monstrosity in order to have the freight carrier pick it back up all over a $5.00 bushing.
After hanging up, I decided to call customer service back to see if maybe I would get a different answer and it would be handled reasonably. The next service rep gave me the same answer so I asked to speak to a Manager. After speaking with the Manager, it was discovered that the part in question was indeed serviceable and that it could be replaced. When I inquired if they would please send it overnight or 2-day they declined my request and stated that it would go Ground with a projected 7-10 day arrival time.
Now I had just saved this company probably $150.00 to $300.00 in shipping costs with my persistence. And they couldn't spend $20.00 or so to make me and 'mainly my wife' happy by expediting the shipment of the only piece necessary to complete my project and start using their product.
It seems to me they couldn't care less whether my calling back had saved them any money and, more importantly, myself more aggravation. This is so typical of how large companies operate today and it really doesn't surprise me. This is what happens when companies are run by policy and not common sense. Read more

My only problem with ordering on Proform's site is the fact that it doesn't have overnight shipping or anything other than ground shipping (which is very unsatisfying). Adding overnight shipping and additional shipping options would greatly increase my comfort and satisfaction with ordering on your Website. Read more

My response to question 2 relates to the shipper (Old Dominion) who dispatched a lone driver to deliver an unwieldy 200 lb. package. The driver left the package leaning on my front porch. A storm came that afternoon, blew over the box, broke the box, and exposed the contents to the elements.
Being a treadmill (that's ostensibly designed to survive a constant drenching from sweat), I'm hoping the rain caused no long-term damage. Read more
