Please Note: That isn't me in my profile picture! That's Stevie Nicks (you knew that, though, right?). I'm not a huge fan of having my picture on the internet but I also don't feel that I'm all that photogenic and rarely is a picture taken that I see fit for public viewing!
I've been here at Epinions for over six years now, and I love it. I've been an Advisor and Top Reviewer in Beauty since October 2002 and a Message Board Moderator in Beauty and Health since July 2004 and am proud to wear these hats!
OK..as many of you know, I live and breathe beauty products.....makeup, skincare, bath & body...name it! Those of us with no kids have our own priorities....and mine are beauty products and skincare. And Fleetwood Mac. :)
As for the personal stuff, I just turned 40, live in N.E. Ohio with my wonderful boyfriend of eight years and work as a Benefits, Pension, Payroll and Workers' Compensation Administrator for a privately-held company. I'm one of the few women who is 40 and has no kids (I'm not sure it was by choice - my life just somehow turned out that way). We don't really want kids at this stage of our lives, so it'll probably stay that way.
My boyfriend and I bought our first house in July of 2005. We are always in the process of some type of home improvement! We are currently in the planning stages of a complete kitchen and bathroom overhaul. We have a 3-year old Boston Terrier named Baxter who is like a child to us. Watching him grow from a little 4-pound, 8-week old puppy into the amazing 27-pound dog he is now has been great. He's so funny, smart and entertaining. We also have a 2-year old male cat named Domino and an outdoor female cat named Halo who started hanging out on our front porch last fall. She goes back and forth between the outside and the inside of the house.
As I stated above, I am a MAJOR beauty product addict. A LOT of my disposable income goes toward beauty products (cosmetics, skincare, etc.). I love both high-end and low-end beauty products and indulge my need for retail therapy as frequently as possible. ;) 99.9% of my reviews are on beauty products because they are my true passion. However, I do enjoy writing reviews on the tons of pet products we buy each year, and I also write the occasional PC and video game review.
I'm a wacked-out Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac fan. I've been a Fleetwood Mac fan since I was 7 years old and have seen them (as well as Stevie solo) in concert MANY times. The Mac (and Stevie by herself) have given us a lot of new stuff over the past 11 years, which has been wonderful because they are definitely toward the end of their career. As long as they're doing something either solo or as a group, I'm happy! We had the pleasure of seeing Lindsey Buckingham solo in October 2006 and it was BY FAR the BEST $35 show we've ever seen. He's amazing!
I'm a serious 70's music fan. My iPod does NOT hold much 80's music even though those were my "glory days" when I was young, carefree and wild. :) In addition to tons of the Mac and Stevie, my iPod has mainly 70's music, which includes tons of my second favorite group of all time, the Eagles. My third favorite "act" is Jim Croce, and I have all of his music on my iPod as well. If he were still alive, I'd be in love with him...OK, I admit I'm in love with him anyway. :)
Animals are very close to my heart, and I enjoy helping animal charities, mainly local no-kill shelters and sanctuaries. I donate money, Kuranda beds and supplies as often as I can. I would love to adopt at least five or six more pets if we had the room and if my boyfriend wouldn't kill me - he's beyond his personal maximum at three pets as it is.
My other hobbies include walking on my treadmill (I've logged over 1,500 miles so far), gardening, home improvements, reading, movies and TV (I'm a reality TV fanatic and also love soaps!). We also play a LOT of PC and video games in this house. We have every video game system imaginable, including the X-Box 360 and the Nintendo Wii. We also buy a lot of PC and video games. We don't play every day, but play as often as we can.
Thanks for reading my profile!
