Details: Established in 1904, the Zoo is the oldest zoo in the Southwest and one of the nation's largest zoological parks. Situated on more than 110 beautifully landscaped acres, we are home to nearly 2,000 animals representing more than 500 different species. A fully accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association and the American Association of Museums as both a living museum and a botanical garden, the Zoo participates in numerous cooperative Species Survival Plan projects and is dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered wildlife.
