Pros: Many Toddler friendly areas Cons: A little expensive
I recently visited the Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach, FL. with my family. Since we were sharing this adventure with a (then) 15-month-old, our experience was a little bit different than most. This review will focus on the “Safari World...
Pros: Lots and lots of animals in big open spaces Cons: In the middle of nowhere
My wife and I moved from Michigan to Florida in September, and so had to drive our cars to our new house. On the way we stopped at many places, but this was the one that was the most enjoyable.
Billed at the 'original' drive through zoo, Lion...
Pros: Can be a full day of activities for the entire family. Cons: If it is too hot you may not see a tremendous amount of animals.
Living in South Florida, there are just some attractions you eventually have to go to. Whether it's the constant marketing, the word-of-mouth or a birthday party you get invited to, if you live here or if you visit you will most likely have the...
Pros: Kids can see animals in a more natural setting. Many fun activities for the entire family. Cons: May seem a bit pricey...but once you see all you get, you won't think so!
We are one of the fortunate families who are lucky enough to live so close to "Lion Country Safari", we can almost hear the lions roar!
Lion Country is one of my children's favorite places to go on a day trip. They love animals, and...
Pros: Educational and much less crowded and much cheaper than Disney's Animal Kingdom! Cons: Not an all day experience, but good for a few hours...
My husband and I just got back yesterday from a day trip down to Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida, just west of West Palm Beach airport and BOY am I thrilled that we went. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we decided to get out and ...

Pros: Very close to the animals (the ostrich eats your windshield) Cons: A little bit too short
This is a zoo. But unlike a normal zoo that you walk around in, this one you drive through, which is much easier then walking. This makes it a better experience then a zoo. Your feet dont hurt, you are in air-conditioning, and you drive very close ...
Pros: good fun for the money Cons: kinda out of the beaten path
This park is kinda out of the normal site for amusement parks.Located inland from West Palm Beach, instead of in Miami or Kissimmee, or Orlando. You get a tour ride through the park and you can see really exotic animals up close and personal. But fear not ...
Pros: LOTS OF ANIMALS; DRIVE THROUGH AS MUCH AS YOU WANT Cons: LIONS ARE NOT ACTIVE;ELEPHANTS AND MONKEYS ARE TOO FAR AWAY
IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE KIDS. YOU RIDE THROUGH IN THE A/C OF YOUR OWN CAR. THE KIDS NEVER TIRE OF GOING BACK AROUND JUST ONE LAST TIME BEFORE WE GO HOME. MY SON FIRST WENT WHEN HE WAS A YEAR AND A HALF AND NOW HE IS ALMOST 12, BUT HE STILL...
Pros: Lots of animals, not like a zoo where everything is in cages. Cons: a little expensive, some animals in Safari World were not really exotic
Just to add here...
They have now opened up a new area to the park, Safari Splash. It's a 10 acre water play area with slides, fountains and many water related activities(free). They also now have a large ferris wheel(free), new exibits and a really cool geraffe feeding area. For a dollar you can be face to face with a geraffe and give it special crackers, which they slurp up with their 17" tounges. Coming soon, they will be adding to Safari Splash by putting in water rides and a wave pool, so its a safari, zoo, and waterpark combined!
Unfortunitly, they have had to add a 6' fence to the lions section(only!) of the safari because people couldn't stay in their cars :(. You can still drive by them, but there is a fence that seperates them from the cars.
