We Are Now Boarding Rows 66-279! Less legroom, for more cramped seats, on Virgin!

by jetbluefan1 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Aug 30 '02
Pros: entertainment
Cons: legroom, air conditioning, cramped seats
About three months in advance, I booked my tickets for the airplane, to Cyprus. I did this via Cyprus Tours, which is a company based in Queens, New York. Cyprus Tours does airfare, hotels, cruises, everything. It has been my travel agency...

Good Little International Airline, Bad Double Entendre Headline Avoided

by davidmanning Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jul 23 '03
Pros: excellent video system on some equipment; free stuff
Cons: Back of the plane isn't the paradise you might think
Virgin Airlines. I've been to their record stores, I'd tasted their cola, and now I was going to fly ...

Big Bodies Beware

by pbyaeger Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 02 '00
Pros: Happy Staff, Great Amenities
Cons: Tight Seating, Small Portions
Yesterday I took my virgin flight on Virgin Atlantic--JFK to LHR, in Premium Economy class. Virgin has a 3 class system--economy (torture class), premium economy (quite similar to domestic coach seating with a bit more legroom) and Upper Class, their...

I was not impressed with Virgin

by Minstrelette Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 29 '01
Pros: good fares, convenient schedules, helpful ground staff
Cons: tiny seats, problems with entertainment systems, didn't love the flight attendants
I notice I'm only the second person to write a negative Epinion on Virgin Atlantic. Why is that? I don't understand why everyone has such a high opinion of this airline.

I fly often. The airlines I use the most are US Air, American, and...

Virgin Atlantic: Outing the Jetrosexual Traveler.

by royalcrowncola , Jun 18 '07
Pros: Good ground staff/cabin staff.
Cons: They can "bump" you without cause
At first, it was an office sensation; a sensation that brought gales of laughter to my colleagues, and caused my wife to immediately suggest moving to another city under an assumed identity. (But, then what assumed identity could beat royalcrowncola?) ...

The only way to fly!

by sara-jane , Feb 25 '03
Pros: Friendly and efficient staff, thorough security checks, well presented aircraft, excellent value for money, entertainment
Cons: Limited destinations, if you're a frequent traveler they only change their movies once a month
I am a frequent business traveler flying often between London and Los Angeles/New York. I have been flying with Virgin since 1999 and hate to spend my money anywhere else. The value for money on their transatlantic service is second to none. You can pick...

I want the world!

by frankiecesca , May 26 '08
Pros: Lots of routes, gret cabin crew and good food
Cons: Not all the fleet have full on demand yet
I have used Virgin Atlantic on occasions for my flights with work and on my own holidays. My two most recent flights were one of each - one to Orlando international and one to Antigua's VC bird International. I would say the flights I have flown on have ...

Virgin Atlantic Airlines is psychedelic groovy. Yeah baby, yeah!

by benho , Aug 28 '01
Pros: Great Décor. Fruity design everywhere. Virgin products everywhere for better or worse.
Cons: Surreality lends to uneasiness. Food sounds wonderful, but implementation typical. Stepford Stewardesses.
Those of you who have read my recent book review on Leviathan [1] will recall that I have recently been living in a heightened state of surreality, and am increasingly convinced that I am living in some sort of Matrix tm. The latest ...

Go All The Way With Virgin......

by akaMum , Sep 17 '00
Pros: Friendly staff, superb in-flight entertainment
Cons: Limited routes into the US (sadly!)
You have to love an airline that blazons "Virgin" across its tail as it flies across the Atlantic! It simply is the ONLY way I'll grab the kids and fly to the UK.....

If you read my essential skin care products review (you...

I'm now a Virgin again!

by elbombo , Jun 11 '04
Pros: V-port entertainment system, food, great customer service
Cons: No online check-in, new seats were uncomfortable
Since I have loads of frequent flyer miles built up, I decided to redeem some on a trip to London using Virgin Atlantic Airways. Having flown their Upper Class many times, I was stingy and redeemed my miles for an economy class seat. I was in for a ...

Great Premium Economy

by dgwright99 , Oct 14 '06
Pros: Best Premium seat transatlantic, availability of mileage upgrades at checkin.
Cons: Power port design on old Premium seat (now being progressively replaced)
I fly LAX-LHR 3-4 times per year, and Virgin Premium Economy is the best deal at a reasonable price transatlantic. Premium economy is midway between coach and business ("upper") class both in terms of service and the seat. For me, the most important ...

A Virgin virgin tells all

by in31122 , Dec 08 '03
Pros: Great entertainment system, friendly crew, good customer service, clean and ultra-modern aircraft
Cons: Long check-in times, extremely cramped seating, lack of beverage service
My girlfriend and I recently flew from Washington Dulles to London Heathrow using Virgin Atlantic. Our ticket was purchased at an extremely good price using a Continental Airlines codeshare. Overall, it was a great experience with a few significant ...

I Keep Trying To Like Them....Will I Learn?

by daredding , Jan 28 '05
Pros: Flat bed/Video
Cons: Lousy service
I fly between Los Angeles and Europe quite often and have flown the leg on Virgin Atlantic about half a dozen times. All of my trips have been in Virgin's Upper Class. I keep wanting to like their product, but they keep disappointing me. As I was fed ...

A solid choice to London, but not perfect.

by serrantino , Jun 10 '02
Pros: Great entertainment system. Nice Upper (Business) Class.
Cons: Economy Class can be very uncomfortable on full flights. UpperClass could use real sleeper seats.
I guess this would be two reviews. I flew Virgin Atlantic in both Economy Class and Upper Class, so I'll review each separately . All flights were on the 10-11 hour LA-London route.

First the Economy Class review:

COMFORT:...

Claustrophobia in the air, chaos on the ground, and not recommended for pets.

by cheva , Jun 26 '05
Pros: A decent kosher meal.
Cons: Cramped seating, uninformed and uncaring employees, mishandling of animals.
When choosing an airline for my move to the US from the UK, my primary consideration was for my cat, and I was all to happy to pay a little extra for an airline that promised superior care of pets. Virgin's policy toward pets sounded compassionate and ...
