The Acer AL2216Wbd Wide screen LCD Monitor is a twenty-two inch widescreen monitor. I was looking at this beauty earlier this summer in the $500 plus range and now it can be found for slightly over $300. If you are into gaming then this monitor gives ...
Pros: Bright, clear display, excellent color reproduction Cons: No vertical height adjustment. No speakers or USB hub.
Like many people, I spend a lot of time every day looking at a computer monitor and frankly any item that is going to be involved in so much of my daily life needs to be of fairly high quality. However, also like many people, I don't have unlimited ...
Pros: Excellent Value. Good price. Cons: Don't have anything to complain about.
This is the first LCD monitor I've purchased (but I do have a 15.4" widescreen on a Compaq laptop). I've been looking at buying one for several months now but this is the first 22" LCD monitor I've found at $300. I've had a 21" Sony Trinitron CRT for ...
The Acer AL2216WBD monitor is the best 22'' monitor on the market today when you factor in price and performance. I have owned this beautiful monitor for just over 3 months now so I feel that I have a good right to place a non bias review. I ordered this ...
Pros: Nice picture, color, easy to set up. Cons: hopefully this one will be okay.
I purchased the 22" Acer Monitor the first part of May '08. Hooked it up and it worked great for the first 3-4 days. Then it developed a high-pitched whine/buzz that was totally irritating to work with...then started to OVERHEAT.
Since I buy all of my PC items at Staples, they did a unit swap. I installed the new one last night and so far it is working fine. It also came with a DVI cable, which I'm not familiar with. I have it hooked up to the tower with the other cable that came with it the unit.
Pros: WOW -- Great monitor. Clear, sharp, fast. Cons: None!!
Don't believe people when they say Samsung, Dell, or any other brand is better than Acer. They are going by their own prejudice, and its probably because they have never owned an Acer monitor. This monitor rocks. You will not be disappointed. The backlighting is not a draw back. You wont even notice it, and impossible to escape in the price bracket you are looking at. Also, its a lot less than the Samsung 204. The stand is sturdy enough to hold the monitor and withstand moving of the desk. I don't understand why people say this is a drawback. If you want a good stand - Purchase a LCD arm. Again -- Buy this monitor if you can. Don't let anyone make up your mind up for you. Read the reviews on-line in comparison to the other lcd's. You will notice this is the best monitor for your $$$
Pros: Looked good while it lasted Cons: 12 hours before failure. Lousy factory warranty repair policy. Very poor user manual (1 page)
I got the beast yesterday and installed it about 8 PM with everything looking great. I start it up at 8 AM this morning and the image on the screen is barely recognizable through all the hash (my old monitor worked just fine when I reconnected it). When I called Acer I was informed that if I sent it back to them it would take up to 10 business days to repair my unit! They won't cross ship a replacement unit while I return the defective one. I'm thankful that I got it from a reputable supplier (TigerDirect.com) who did cross ship a replacement since it was essentially DOA.
Pros: Great for images and text, easy set up, incredible price Cons: No speakers or USB ports
My CRT monitor died so I wanted to get an LCD. This acer monitor was on sale at an unbelievable price for a 22 inch screen. After reading several online reviews I decided to buy a Samsung 19 inch which sold for the same price as the acer 22". I couldn't resist the acer so I bought it as well. It was incredibly easy to assemble and install the acer. Everything about it was great. The screen image was much better on my home PC than at CompUSA. I have a Samsung 17 inch LCD monitor for comparison with the acer. Following a side by side comparison, I decided to take the new Samsung 19 inch back without opening it. I do a lot of photo editing and my images looked better than ever on the new acer monitor. Text was equally great. I am using the VGA connection with a Compaq P4 3 GHz PC. I saw some slightly negative reviews for this monitor but they did not apply to the one I purchased. There were no speakers or USB ports but I didn't expect them to be there. I would highly recommend this unit!
Pros: Good buy if you can get it at a low price. Cons: No height adjustment, imperfect color.
For the price this is a good monitor. But if you're picky, there are a few things you might notice:
1. If you have an older video card then the analog (VGA) color may not be as good as the digital (DVI) color. But after I bought a new video card, the VGA color was identical to the DVI color, so it wasn't the monitor's fault, but the video card's.
2. The default gamma seems a bit too high; I had to lower it in order to calibrate for Photoshop. It would be nice if it had an sRGB setting like the Viewsonic monitors.
2. The screen brightness is not quite uniform; it's brighter at the bottom. And the colors are not uniform; the screen is more red near the bottom of the screen, and more green at the top.
Pros: Lots of room. Not too hard on the eyes. Cons: Must have video card that supports 1680x1050
I've been wanting a larger display for some time.
Editing video, music, and working with photos is so much easier to do on one screen. I've tried dual monitors and jumping from screen to screen is too distracting.
To get the most out of this monitor you have to run at native resolution (1680x1050) through the DVI output.
For the price ($199) at Office Depot, it was just what I needed.
AL2216Wbd is the way to go by maliciousclout ,Nov 09 '07
Pros: Everything;price, performance, appearance Cons: None to speak of; and yes I AM HARD TO PLEASE!
I spent countless hours researching, comparing over and over until I found this one to suit my needs. I found a great price at Office Depot. Long story short. This monitor is super bright, crisp and maintains vibrate colors! If you are doing your research and don't want to spend a bundle, this is the way to go. I've seen people say it doesn't come with a DVI cable. Mine did. I just plugged it in and have had no issues, and didnt have to tool around with it to get it to look right like I've read people have had to do. The packaging the unit came in is top notch! I was totally impressed with that! The monitor is light, and sleek looking. It has the option of being hung on the wall too! I promise you will be happy with this monitor, you will not be disappointed. Told my friends about it. They too purchased one and are also ecstatic with there/my selection. So a total of 4 great monitors all with great results.
Bought at tigerdirect outlet store for $219. when powered up, One pixel was burned. drove 30 miles and got original one replaced. After 15 min of use another one is burned on the new one! There was a guy on the line with same monitor being at store 2nd time with pixel issue!
