She also penned How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel & Land on Your Feet, a ten volume inspirational series. The books are multi-author anthologies with a theme of, "From tragedy, to triumph."

In March, 2007, Mimi launched her highly-acclaimed independent publishing company on a shoestring budget The name was contrived as a tribute to two of her three granddaughters, Candace and Alyse. Her enthusiasm has helped her shape her branding and build a dynamic team around her.

Mimi is a life-time New Yorker and currently resides with her husband, Charles, her granddaughter, Candace, and their pets.

Six years into recovering from Major Depression, Mimi seeks the love and support of friends both in cyberspace and in the real world.

"When we embrace each other as fellow human beings, we are living with unconditional love, with unconditional kindness and with compassion. As we raise our children, we must instill in them these basic human qualities. Love makes the world a much better place to live. Today I love myself as I love my fellow human beings."

My Name is NOT Monkey Girl

"My Name is Not Monkey Girl" serves as a tremendous resource for parents, teachers, grandparents, schools and libraries alike.

It was written with the aim of teaching children the importance of unconditional kindness, patience, love, tolerance, and compassion.

And, inspired after a child called Candace a monkey girl. At the time, Candace was approaching her to play.

Author Miriam Jacobs is on a mission. The ten-time author continues to raise funds for facial reconstructive surgeries for her 9-year-old granddaughter, Candace, through her publishing company and generous donations from kind-hearted humanitarians.

Along the way, she is promoting tolerance, education, and compassion for those who have Giant Congenital Nevus; a rare skin disorder that Candace was born with.

    Thinking of Aaron

    Spent the morning remembering
Your life, your joys, your trials
Your life seemed to mirror mine
    I remember them with smiles

    It was not always easy
    Seeing you go through pain
But one thing that I learned
From you is - no pain, no gain

    Today, you would be fifty
Had the Lord spared your life
So, brother, here's to remembering you,
Your precious girls, and your wife

So long ago you and I were
Like twins; two peas in a pod
    We were like bread and butter;
You got in trouble, and so did I

Today, as I think of you and
    The painful way you died
I need to tell you, Brother,
    That happy tears I cried

    When after years of wondering
    Why God took you away
Today I know your death was
    My catalyst for change

    It is your hearty laughter
That I hear in the breeze
Your peaceful smile, your inner spirit
    That is worth remembering

    Today I choose to celebrate
Not mourn, not sit and cry
Today I live a life of joy
And here is the reason why

On the day the dreadful fire
    Took away your life
    In His infinite wisdom
    The Lord handed me mine

At first, I didn't appreciate it
Opting to suffer in a drunken haze
But had it not been for you
I would not have changed my ways

So, Aaron, know that I love you
I always have and I always will
Know that someday we will meet again
Up high on a heavenly hill

    We'll run, we'll frolic, and we'll dance
We'll laugh, we'll sing, and cry
We'll share about the good old days
And how in vain you did not die

    Thank you for loving me
Thank you for sharing my life
Thank you for giving me three nieces
Thank you for your lovely wife

He took you all as a family
Ending the sadness, the trials, the strife
    Today, as I remember you
I thank God you were in my life!

    Happy birthday, my brother

    ~ R.I.P Three Little Angels ~

    by Auntie Mimi

    Awoke with thoughts of angels
    Danielle came to mind
    that pretty little special girl
    who left the world behind
    Too soon, so soon
    she wasn't even four yet
When God said, "Come here, my child
Come meet me at the gate of Heaven."
Awoke with angels flying all about my head
    I saw Susan, sweet Susan
    laying lifeless; she was dead
God knew why He took her
    This innocent child of two
    Couldn't understand it then
Not sure if I really do
    And, Shantel, the oldest
    of the three -
    With beauty, brains and as
    wise as she could be
Her life was short, only six when she died
for all of my sweet angels
a river of tears we all cried.
    Awoke with dreams of angels
they are always in my heart
Not a day ever goes by
When the moments that are dark
    Fill me with sadness,
    overtakingmy soul
    sending me over the edge
to a dark and lonely road
    where I sit and contemplate
    my angels who are gone
who left this world too soon
And flew up to the Beyond.
I know that they are happy
    laughing, bouncing with glee
    But, I sure do wish
I had them sitting right beside me
Rest in Peace, my pretty angels
    you now belong to God
    Someday we'll meet again
In the Great kingdom of the Lord...

(This poem is dedicated to the memory of
my three nieces who died tragically
in 1987 when a house fire roared.
They are in Heaven with my brother
and their mother. God bless their souls.)

~ Depression... it's no joke.

If you know someone who thinks that suicide is an option, do something to help... this just might be a cry for help from the darkness that depression has taken them.
