Tips for Singers
The sound of music is very important to a song. The singing accents the musical accompaniment and that is why it is important to listen and to make sure that you are blending with what you hear. The way you decide to sing is what makes the difference.Every song has a rhythm and it is important to listen to the rhythm to make sure you are singing on time. You want to make sure that your voice rides on the melody. Clapping is a good way to keep the timing in harmony. Breathing and listening to the keys while singing can also help with blending.
The Vocal Cords are 2 muscular folds capable of closing over the windpipe and vibrating in response to air pressure from the lungs, resulting in vocal tone. In men they are the size of a nickel and in women, they are the size of a dime and therefore are very delicate instruments. There are 6 basic voice types which include bass, baritone, tenor, alto mezzo-soprano and soprano. Belting is not a voice type but rather, a way of singing when using your chest voice used for opera singers or gospel singers.
