Definitely worth the piece of mind...

by dmatsumo , Dec 14 '04
Pros: Piece of mind, simple assembly
Cons: Opening for mattress is a little too small (but couldn't get any larger)
When our son started to stand up, my wife and I decided that it was time to protect him from potentially fatal falls out of the crib. A friend of mine recently told us about a friend of his whose child died after falling over the side of his crib. No ...

Which is better, I or II?!

by rockymountains , Mar 01 '08
Pros: Great design and idea, very sturdy.
Cons: Does not fit many cribs, zipper is LOUD.
If you’re looking at this you’ve probably seen the Original Cozy Crib tent (or Tent #I not #II). We tried both models (not liking the first one) and this is what we thought about the new and improved Cozy Crib Tent II: The design is exactly the same ...

Will NOT Properly Fit 3 in 1 Cribs (at least mine!)

by mommytothree79 , May 02 '07
Pros: Will fulfull purpose wonderfully, top-quality construction, video directions on website helpful- must watch.
Cons: Standard-sized crib does not insure proper fit, depends on crib design; price.
Our 19 month old daughter has so far climbed out of her playpen twice recently, which led me to worry over her falling out of her crib, so that's what led me to search for a crib tent. She is tall for her age and started walking at 8 1/2 months, so I ...

Only fit STANDARD cribs

by cxshih , Mar 22 '07
Pros: Easy to assemble
Cons: Only fits standard dropside cribs, top is not detachable
We bought the crib tent II to keep our child, who is starting to get to the point of being able to pull himself up to a stand, from climbing over the crib rails and to prevent him from constantly getting his legs caught between the slats on the crib. On ...

Piece of junk!

by mommasstuff , Aug 01 '05
Pros: None.
Cons: The product IS a way to con you out of $70!
We thought this would be so great to keep kitties out of the crib and were thrilled when we received it off our registry. And, yes! My husband and I have a new name for it. It's the piece of CRIB tent! After fighting with the stupid thing to even get it ...

Had high hopes, but didn't fit my crib

by neeter97 , Feb 04 '08
Pros: Potential to keep child from falling/climbing out of crib
Cons: Expensive, doesn't fit ALL cribs
My 19-month-old daughter recently learned how to climb out of her crib, and a friend said a crib tent saved her sanity with her second child. I drove to two different BRU stores to locate one of these things. On learning the price was $70, I hesitated ...

Worked great for my 22-month old
by apollard73 ,May 31 '08
Pros: Easy to use once assembled in the crib, safety
Cons: Makes it harder to change crib sheets, price
I didn't buy this to keep my son from climbing out, but to keep him from throwing his "guys" out of the crib and then sobbing rather than sleeping. I was worried that he wouldn't like being enclosed as he doesn't like it in general. But to my surprise, he loved it. He was so excited to have his very own tent. He even asks me to zip it up when I put him in his crib.

I will admit that putting it on wasn't the most fun process ever and it makes changing sheets a little more difficult. But honestly, it's not that big a deal and it's totally worth it for the peace of mind. I love knowing that he can't toss his guys anymore and that he won't be able to climb out either when he's big enough to do that.

Not practical
by onemom2another ,Jul 28 '07
Pros: Hummm? Making your beautiful crib look like a torture device for the baby! LOL
Cons: Well, everything about it! It is a con!
We got ours to keep kitties out. Trust me, it is so much easier to just shut the door and use a monitor.

We didn't realize how cheap it was until we tried to get it on the crib. Ugh! For $70 it should be real tent material. It is made of very cheap material and I have heard so many parents tell me how theirs came apart or how they had to "rig" it to keep their child in. The AAP and crib manufactures all say that if your child can get out of their crib or is 36" tall they need to be moved to a toddler bed.

They only SAFE way to install it is with the mattress at its lowest setting. The Crib Tent fastens to the crib in a manner which makes it impossible to raise or lower the side without undoing it. Velcro opening and closing usually wakes a baby. So it is nearly impossible to lower a sleeping baby that far down in a crib without lowering the side and waking them with the velcro.

Plus, just like others have said, it will not fit any crib except a standard one.

I LOVE this crib Tent!!
by heart2home ,Oct 07 '06
Pros: Keeps Baby SAFE!
Cons: Zippers wear out too soon.
I have used the original crib tent for years and was pleased with it. I thought that I would try the new Crib Tent II and I LOVE IT!!!

It is easy to install and makes for a safe environment for baby/toddler.
*Pacifiers and toys can't fall or be tossed out
*Siblings can't add toys that might be choking hazard
*toddler can't reach through the crib railings and get to the zipper!

I have used the Crib Tent II for 6 months now and still love it!!

Great product for parents of climbers
by dsh68 ,Aug 26 '06
Pros: Seems safe, stops climbers and escape artists, peace of mind, child is happy.
Cons: Price.
Our son just turned 2 when he discovered he could climb out of his crib. We took down the crib, put up the twin bed, and for the next 2 weeks got almost no rest whatsoever. He refused to sleep in the twin bed, so we put up his play yard. That worked okay for about a week, when he learned how to climb out of it, too. I began researching these crib tents and decided to try it. On the day it arrived, I put his crib back together and assembled the crib tent. It was not terribly difficult. If you have trouble with the instructions, I recommend visiting the Tots in Mind website. They have a short instructional video that shows how to assemble the tent. I love that it has the "walls" inside the crib, not just the dome on top. Once he realized he couldn't escape, he seemed to relax and was very content in his cozy bed. Also, naptime is easy again. I don't have to be constantly on guard wondering if he is roaming the house at night. It's expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

AWESOME INVENTION!
by kellz625 ,Dec 03 '05
Pros: Everything
Cons: Kind of hard to attach (as it should be)
We got this free with our crib from a local classified ad.

I love this thing. My cat will sleep with anyone who'll allow it which caused us concern when my son was old enough to sleep in his crib. Well the thing is SO sturdy I can't see it falling inwards. Also I could fit all of my son's crib toys in it! See a picture here: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a85/Kellz625/HPIM0621.jpg

Our mobile fit, (which I was so happy about since his room is themed with matching stuff) and the aquarium, the soothers fit as well.

I can not say enough good about this item!

Peaceful Nights Return
by kllunsford ,Sep 10 '06
Pros: Great product, easy assembly using instructions, peace of mind is well worth the price.
Cons: Wish I knew about this item before we tried the big bed at 18mo!
Our tot was under two when he started climbing out of his crib. We thought the only solution was to get him into a big bed until someone mentioned the Crib Tent. Wow, we were very grateful! The price might seem steep, but we have been using the tent for over a year now and are very happy we found it. Our child is safe in his crib and we can sleep without worry!

Do not hesitate even with older child--it works!
by melsy777 ,Jul 23 '06
Pros: it works and it's well made
Cons: the installation is a little tricky but not too bad
This is a wonderful product. I hesitated to purchase because it is not an inexpensive item and my son was 18 months old and big--off the charts for his age. I was concerned he would tear it apart to get out. But, he was climbing out of his crib and not take naps. We had to rock him to sleep every night so that he was asleep before going into the crib. We were desperate. It took about a week, maybe two, of him having to cry himself to sleep (each time was less and less) but eventually he did fall asleep on his own in his crib with the tent. Also, because of his size, his calves were getting stuck in the crib slats which would cause him to wake up in the middle of the night. The Crib Tent II, with the mesh inside, solved this problem as well. This is awesome. The installation was not too bad.
