Pros: best nights sleep ever Cons: difficult to part with
I bought a Simmons Baymont Ultra Plush Pillowtop in March '04, and owned it until Feb. of this year, and although it was my priciest furniture purchase, almost $1600, it was also my best. My husband and I loved it. Within the first week of sleeping on ...

run away
by ewente ,Aug 25 '04
Pros: It was great for two months. The movement isolation side to side is good. Cons: Completely a waste of money since it didn't last even a year.
I purchased a Simmons World Class Baymont Plush in Jan '04. It's now Sept '04 and the thing is completely painful. The non-flip, non-rotate feature sounded great, but the springs have broken down, and it's like sleeping in a hammock. I have a set of Simmons twin beds that are 60 years old and still in great shape, so I figured I might as well give it a shot. I've heard the horror stories of dealing with the company for warranty, and frankly, I'm going to try to get it replaced minimally, however we have a teenager that will use it if it's too much trouble. I've tried three different beds in the last three years and I'm totally tired of dealing with the various manufacturers. Mattress manufacturers seem to be basically slime in general. I am 240lbs and my wife is about 140. my side has completely collapsed and leaves me with back pain in the morning. I recently purchased a sleep number bed, since I've heard so much positive info from my other large male friends. Something has gone wrong with Simmons' quality, and I'm completely disappointed.

Great Mattress for short term use.
by supernova7891 ,Jun 18 '07
Pros: Great for 5 years. Cons: Warranty does not hold up. Claims 10 lasts 5.
I have had my Baymont twin for 5 years. Just now it is breaking down and hurting my lower back. It was great for 5 years, but the warranty was for 10. I only weigh 209 lbs. Simmons overexaggerates the warranty. That is the latest trick by product manufacturers, besides reducing quantity and quality. Simmons used to be a tiptop company. If you want excellent sleep for 5 years. Purchase one. But I am sure there are better ones out there. Too much money for the life span. Get the tighttop, not the pillowtop. Pillowtop mattresses don't hold up at all.

not a happy camper
by nothappycamper ,Aug 23 '07
Pros: Can't think of any Cons: ONE YEAR IS NOT LONG ENOUGH
I purchased the
Baymont pillow top mattress in Feb of 06. By Sept of that same year I called the store where I got it so that they could come and take a look...they did. It had a dip of 2 1/2 inches in the middle. They replaced it...thankfully. This Sept.(07) I called the store again for the same problem (a 2 1/2 inch dip)...they came...took pictures...and informed me that they could not replace it due to my grandsons cup leaking cool-aid and making a stain. This leads me to believe that Simmons might resale returned merchandise, or maybe the store it's self might. In any case, I live on Social Security and Can't afford to go out and spend hundreds of dollars every year to get an new mattress. I thought that by buying a Quality mattress like Simmons that I'd have a great experience. I have not. One year is not a long period of time no matter how you look at it.

Simmons World Class Plush Pillow Top Mattress
by braddd ,Jan 01 '06
Pros: good for short use only Cons: cost and quality don't balance out
The mattress was great for about 3-4 years. Now at 5 we have a lump between us. I am uncomfortable. Sleeping in a hole.
We added a topper to the pillow top. This does help, but I do not stay asleep for more than 6 hrs.
Nice mattress for shot term use.

Not worth MY money
by sleepnott ,Aug 23 '07
Pros: Great sleep...for a year. Cons: Not worth the money spent for just a year of sleep.
I purchased this bed with the Simmons name in mind, it's a great brand right? Not this one. It lasted for not quite a year and then it had a 2 1/2 inch bow in the middle. The store where I purchased the bed replaced it...and now...a year later...same problem. I will not buy this brand again.
