I have had my DV-f727 for about 3 years without problems.
It works very well with both commercial DVDs and home created DVD-Rs.
I have filled my 1st unit to capacity and have just ordered a second unit which can be linked to the first to create a 600 disk system (using one remote).
The built in cataloging leaves much to be desired, so I catalog mine via a printed list from my PC, listed alphabetically with slot numbers.

After spending hours hitting sites like www.dealtime.com and www.PriceComparison.com, I finally decided to walk down to the closest stereo store near my appartment. Behold the price they gave me was the same. So I haggled and got it down to $5 bucks cheaper.
Sure I have to pay tax, but for the instant gratification, it was worth it.
This DVD is great. Simply very easy to use and the connections at the back was complete. I did not even touch the manual to install or operate it.
