Pros: Amazing traction in all conditions - particularly mud and snow, aggressive look Cons: Pricey, noisy, slurps up fuel
Working in the oil field, theres not a day that I work where I dont spend a significant amount of time off-road. With that being the case, it didnt take long to realize that the stock Continental ContiTrac A/T tires encasing the 18-inch ...
Pros: This tire will get you where you want to go and back home. Cons: More maintenance than a conventional all terrain tire.
BF Goodrich has one niche in the market all to themselves in the truck tire business. That market is in their most popular light truck line. Every customer that has bought a set of these either loves them or hates them. This is not your average ...
Pros: Great in snow, long tread wear. Looks great! Cons: Not great on loose sand or wet pavement
My tires are 32X11.5QR15 on a 1991 Jeep Wrangler, and I absolutely LOVE them! I haven't had much experience with them in mud, but what little I did worked well. the most experience I have had with them is in snow. I live on the east coast and really ...
Pros: Great on mud/snow, cool look Cons: Poor on ice, poor braking, expensive
Size:33x12.5x15 In Alberta nearly a quarter of all trucks contain aggressive tires dues to the fact that we have a real winter, and mud that follows. I got a job on the rigs about 8 months ago and decided it was time to make my truck off road ready. ...
Pros: Quiet running for a truck tire.
Can air-up for gas mileage Cons: None
33-12.5/15s on my 78 Blazer bush beater huntin rig: lovem, rock crawlin on old washed out loggin roads, mud, snow. On completely overgrowen (6-10'Alder saplings) impassable old logging roads,i put'er in low range and the iron giant 4spd. in bull-low ...
Pros: Outstanding traction & handling. Cons: A little noisy & handling is sensitive to small variations in pressure.
I am running 305/70/16's on a stock height 2000 Chevy Silverado. They fit perfectly and only rub when in 4WD at full lock. I bought these to replace Goodyear MTRs (285/75/16) that I only got 30,000 miles out of. So far (10K miles) these tires are ...
Pros: Great looks, good off-road traction Cons: Pricey, little noisy on highway
I recently bought a set of lt285/75/r16's and I am thoroughly satisfied. They have an even more aggressive look and stance than what I was expecting based on pictures I had seen. I just put these on my '97 Chevy Tahoe and they made a drastic difference...
Pros: Handles well on road, Grips great for rock crawling, looks aggressive. Cons: Does'nt grab loose dirt well.
These tires handle great on rocky terrain and this is A great tire for rock crawling. They look good and they handle alot better on the street than I thought they would. I have yet to use them in the sand, but I hear they work great. I have found these...
I primarily purchased these for a tougher look than the stock tires. I don't do recreational mudding, but need the extra traction when I go hunting in the mountain back country and when I go to my mountain cabin in the winter. I have had them for about 30,000 miles now and I love them. Since the majority of my driving is highway/hard top roads I thought they might wear fast and be noisy. The have held up increadably well, based on my tire condition I bet you can easily get 65-75,000 miles out of a set. Noise is not bad either. Supposedly they are not made for snow, but mine worked great in deep snow without chains.
Pros: Great on snow, mud, rock, trails and look tough! Cons: Poor on wet surface, little jeep hydroplanes terribly on large tires.
I bought these Mud Terrains for my Jeep Wrangler 60k miles ago! Have used them for rock climbing and mudding and of course on road driving. They are pretty worn down with not much traction left (of course still has more tred then any car tire). But despite worn tred, I did pull out a full size 4x4 pickup in deep mud just a week ago using the winch on the front of the jeep. Slid a little due to tred being so worn down after 5 years, but accomplished the task! I plan on putting brand new tires on soon and will be going with the same identical tire! I love them! They make my little yellow jeep with 4" lift look really cool! Just what a good redneck girl like me wants!
A great tire from our friends down at BF Goodrich. by a1saltzman ,Aug 29 '07
Pros: Great performance and look.
Great performance and look.
Great performance and look Cons: More costly than other brands
I have a 1970 Ford Bronco, a round one year ago I purchased a set of BF Goodrich 31 10.50 Mud Terrain. They are simply the best mud tire that I have ever driven. The BF G MT is a great tire from the look of the tire to its performance, a goer in the mud and not bad in the snow.
I have not driver a large variety of mud tires but I have driven a few. The Superswamper is also a good tire but I felt that I had more control with the BF G¡¦s. I have tried the Mud king whose tread pattern is similar to the BF G but it is still not the same.
Those of you that enjoy a good 4X4 ride are probably thinking that a 31 on that particular vehicle is just not big enough. I can appreciate that but trust me on my outfit the BF G 31 10.50 gets me where I want to go.
You have to own these tires by dooboy2112 ,Feb 14 '04
Pros: Great Off-Road Tire Cons: Expensive
These tire where on my 00 Jeep Wrangle Sport when I bought it three years ago. And they are the best off-road tire I have ever owned. Now 40 thousand miles later I'm going the buy them again.
Pros: long life, great grip, quiet on the freeway compared to my swampers Cons: I wish I had studs in them when I hit the ice!
I put these on my 92 Toyota @ 30k miles back in 95. I wheeled about once a month the rest has been mostly highway miles and a bit of city with heavy hauling. The tires still had about 40% tread when I rolled the truck with 150K on the odo. It is fair to say at about 100K miles they became impossible to ballance but were still great in the mud. I assume all this is due to my light truck but all the same still very impressive.
P.S. I dont crawl rock strictly muddin here in the NW.
