Sometimes you have to test the waters. Against the Epinions over-all rating of two stars, I still ordered a golf club from Golfsmith.com. Frankly, I was pleased! First, Golfsmith advertises itself as "The Ultimate Golf Company." Judging from its ...
I recently placed my first order from GolfSmith, and couldn't have been happier! Everything I bought was on sale, and I got some incredible deals. The only "problem" I had was that the order was sent in many separate shipments, and the last one did ...
I do not totally blame Golfsmith for this issue. I ordered 2 Nickent rescue clubs that were supposed to be delivered on 1 March it is now 4 April I have still no word about the ship date. It has been excuse after excuse from the person I e-mailed at ...
I've been dealing with Golfsmith for many years and watched as their customer service has spiraled downward to a point that I am finally giving up on them and will take my business elsewhere ... The level of incompetency at Golfsmith stretches from the ...
I am an international customer and recently ordered a iron set from GS. Once I ordered I received an email advising me of the order and order number. The email gave a shipping date and advised that they would send another email once the clubs shipped. ...
Great Selection---BUT--Purchase At Your Own Risk by berniez40 - Top 500,Oct 30 '06
I have mixed feelings about this company. The site is exceptionally well mapped out, and placing orders is an absolute breeze. Their selection is superior, and ease of placing the order is top notch.......BUT.....When the rubber meets the road, their execution and follow up is bottom of the bargain barrel. Many times I've placed orders, and had partial orders sent automatically w/no notification. If you need 8 shafts to fit a set of irons---three w/5 on back order just isn't going to cut the mustard.
I suspect they usually do this because the times I had to use them on back ordered goods they took forever to arrive, and I often ended up just cancelling the order. They remain unbeatable for selection, but often beatable in price...(Despite their guarantee)....They are dead last in initial customer service and follow through. I've actually received sarcastic remarks when making over the phone inquiries as follow ups to orders that were somewhere in Limbo.
No clubs and No words from them. by yamadataro ,Feb 12 '07
They sell the clubs they don't have.
I ordered the club on their website.
A few days later, they sent me a
confirmation mail that they shipped the
product, but they never arrived.
I called them after 10 days.
They said they don't have the club.
Hate it! I spend alot on golf...will not with GS by myopinionii ,Jun 21 '07
No knowledge sales caddies! Minimal help even when "you" have to ask! Online is the same, they tell you one thing and mean another. I ordered a product so i can pickup in store, mind you it said in stock at this location, but received a call from the store and said they do not have it and do not know when they would. To add to this, they take your credit card info anyways...not cool!
Golfsmith sucks! I could not wait until they opened in our location, but disappointed with it know. I shop at Golfmart now, if you have one in your area "Great" place to golf shop. Friendly, knowledgeable, and have plenty in stock, if not they have other stores in areas to get your product. Bought my FT-5 their, great club fitting!!!! If you have to do your shopping online go with TGW, they are good and fast. Very descriptive of their products and they seem to have stock on hand in all my experiences... Golfsmith, you could of had a good thing! All my friends shop at Golfmart now, i will also spread the word, as i am here!
Get the feeling they don't care, they made their sale... by seabear ,Jan 30 '07
I purchased 3 dozen golf ball with the intention of giving them as gifts. The boxes arrived torn and were in no condition to be given as gifts. I contacted the store via e mail and after two weeks have yet to here back from them.
WILL NEVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN
RETURNED GOODS STILL AWAITING REFUND
STILL AWAITING REPLY FROM COUNTLESS EMAILS
DISGUSTING WAY TO RUN A COMPANY
NOW REFUSE TO ANSWER EMAILS
IF THEY COME GOOD I'LL RETRACT
DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH

I'M SAVING YOU ALL THE TROUBLE I'M HAVING
Great in-store and online experience. Highly recommend! by bepanie ,Jun 26 '06
I have shopped this store in person (Sioux Falls SD 10th St and 41st locations) and online. Excellent knowledgable staff in the store. Their online site is a little sluggish and the ordering screens seems to run slow as well. However, great overall experience both in house and online. Shipping with quick (shipped within 24 hours. Tracking number provided.
Golfsmith lacks credibility and displays a breach of confidence. by randomhouse ,Feb 06 '07
I ordered a Tommy Armour AyrTime 430cc Driver. The salesperson on the phone averred the item was in stock, but would ship three days later. The salesperson gave a confirmation order number, which can be used to track the item later. Three days passed and I queried their tracking web-page only to see this item was put on back-order. I then surfed over to their Home-page and displayed the item ordered and nowhere on that page displayed the item is either in stock, out of stock or back-ordered. However, if you click Add to Cart, then review Cart... it states: SHIP DATE five days later than the previously displayed ship date and this changes from week to week, implying to the customer we have it in stock, but we only ship on certain days. Golfsmith is very deceptive using this business pratice. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH Golfsmith. Use The Golfworks for all your club making items.
Terrible service, International customer one excuse after another, I would recommend carving some clubs out of anything you can find before ordering from here
Sold me Used Tennis Shoes as New by dkawasak ,Feb 13 '08
I purchased a pair of nike tennis shoes online and they arrived on time... but used! no like someone tried them out in the store.. but it as if someone had bought them, took them out side and played tennis in them. The sole was black, with creases and scuffs on the shoe. I was so surprised. So beware of getting used shoes as "new".
2 vacation hrs in store chasing employees, frustrating internet communication, Bad service! by racine1otter ,Apr 17 '06
While on vacation I walked into the Parkmeadows store in Denver to find a bag and putter. Service help was spotty with 1 in 3 knowing or willing to help. I had to order a bag on their instore online computer myself and prepaid for birthday present. Deliver was supposed to be 7-10 days. 2 weeks later back from vacation still NO BAG?! 3 emails and 4 calls to customer service and finally a conversation to re-order the bag and re-start transaction. Delivery is promised in 3-4 days. Actual delivery is 7 days later. I called Michael Mason( management) to report this SNAFU, my disappointment and get a personal apology then he offers to send a dozen golfballs. Guess what I get, LIP SERVICE, a very late delivery and no golf balls. This is dismal service, disappointingly late product delivery, poor followup and cheap talk from customer management.
