Pros: Great location, pleasant rooms, very comfortable bed, friendly, helpful staff Cons: Cramped parking. Visitors with giant SUVs should park elsewhere. Better yet, sell your stupid vehicle.
The Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel, part of the Kimpton Group, is a sophisticated slice of Manhattan in downtown Portland. From the hotel's busy streetside entrance, the friendly doorman will direct you through a double set of swinging leaded glass ...
Pros: Great hotel particularly if you like older restored buildings. No cookie cutter stuff here! Cons: Room service and restaurant attached a little on the spendy side.
The Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel is for those who like something with an atmosphere of class and service as it used to be-- but not pretentious either. LOCATION: This hotel is in the Southwest part of downtown Portland, Oregon. It is very convenient ...
Pros: Loyalty program perks, quiet rooms, evening reception, super-friendly staff, great location Cons: VERY uncomfortable bed, dimly-lit work area.
This hotel has transitioned from the popular Fifth Avenue Suites to a Kimpton property-The Hotel Monaco. My husband and I stayed at the Monaco Portland for 3 nights in October. The hotel is very convenient to all that downtown Portland offers. It's ...
Pros: Good Value, Pleasant Staff, Free Wine Cons: Valet Parking can get real busy, slow elevators, confusing to find if unfamiliar with whacky Portland streets
My wife and I have been here maybe three times in the past four years. We have been able to consistently get some good rates through an on-line site.
Finding the place can be a chore with the one-ways, the transit only streets/sections of...
Pros: Easy to get to, convenient locale, nice room, great staff. Cons: Under renovation so some paint fumes.
I booked a reservation fairly last minutes (within a week of visiting Portland) for business as a colleague needed help and hadn't made arrangements for me. The rate on the web for the Fifth Avenue Suites was about the lowest going in downtown. We ...
Excellent hotel; highly recommended; comfortable, quiet rooms, very spacious; by mamabear1625 ,Aug 14 '06
Pros: Location; roomy room; separate areas in suite; excellent restaurant for breakfast in hotel Cons: it doesn't have a pool or hot tub if one likes that.
Excellent hotel, seventh floor, very comfortable, quiet and roomy - had enough space not to feel like a hotel room, and the sliding doors between the living room and the bedroom meant we could have different schedules and my husband could stay up late watching TV. No car needed;walked everywhere, fantastic central location in downtown Portland, close to riverwalk, Pearl District, light rail and all shops.
Pros: Great rooms, Great Concierge, really good service Cons: I have heard the rooms on the lower floors can be noisy.
I have had the stayed at some of the finest hotels on both coasts of the United States. Although 5th Avenue Suites is not flawless, the shear lack of pretense and quality of product make it stand out. My room was extremely comfortable and the bright french countryside decorations made it feel homey. In adidition it has the priveledge of existing in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. As a final point the concierge is extremely helpful, moreso than the type you often find at major chain hotels like Hilton or Sheraton.
